The International Maritime Organisation has introduced new regulations to limit the Sulphur content in fuel oil used by ships by January 2020. In order to comply with the regulations and cover the additional costs, Ocean Carriers will introduce an additional Vessel Low Sulphur Fuel Oil Surcharge to the market effective 1st December 2019.
To recover these costs, Pacific Cargo Services will introduce a VLSFO surcharge of $10 per cubic meter on LCL exports from Australia, Effective 1st December 2019.
